Help with Internet Mail(Internet Mail was an early mail client for Internet Explorer 3.0. While simple, it was single-user and is highly obsolete now.) Before you begin, you must have an e-mail account set up. In our example, the email account name will be Mark. The password will be music. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your Internet web browser, do the following: Activate your browser (You do not need to be online to do this. Simply close the connect screen when it pops up. If you get an error message that the browser could not open the Internet site, click "OK."). Once in the browser, click on the mail icon (the envelope) on Microsoft Internet Explorer's toolbar, then click on "read mail." A wizard will pop up to guide you through the process of setting up your mail:
You should now arrive in the mail window. Click on "mail," then click on "options" in the mail window. You will arrive in the mail options window, where you can set a variety of preferences for sending and receiving mail. To check your settings and complete the setup, click on the "server" tab in the row of tabs at the top of the window. You will arrive in the mail server settings window. Click on the "Advanced Settings" button. Under advanced settings, be sure to enter your email address in the "Reply to" field. If You Do Not Get A Wizard When You Click "Read Mail" or if you have already set up mail but need to change the address or mail server names, go to Microsoft Internet Explorer and click on the mail icon on the tool bar, then go to "read mail." Once you are in the mail window: click on "mail," then click on "options." You are now in the mail options window, where you can set a variety of settings for sending and receiving mail. Click on the "Server" tab in the row of tabs at the top of the window. You are now in the mail server settings window, where you enter the following information:
Remember that Microsoft Internet Mail only accommodates one email account. If you have multiple email accounts, you will have to find another client (Pegasus and Eudora are two that are great) to send email with your second or third email accounts. |
