Megapipe Has Gone National with New Access Numbers

Megapipe has expanded its network and now offers dialup access anywhere in the United States. Megapipe's enhanced national service also includes a new multi-dial option, giving our customers even more flexability. Use the "multidial" option when you can't find a local Megapipe number in your area.

Please note that you will have to dial in a differently with the national service. The old access numbers (703-779-1000 and 703-737-0772) will soon be discontinued, so you should make these changes immediately.

Simply follow the instructions for setting up your new dialer below. You have two networks to choose from, YNP and Multidial. Anyone in Western Loudoun can use the access numbers 703-297-4448 and 703-999-0692. You will find additional numbers at www.megapipe.net/accnum. western Loudouners should search by using the "city," Leesburg.

Customers in other locations should consult the search tool, using the location they live in or a neighboring town. If you live in Northern Virginia, most numbers, including those in the neighboring towns will be local to you.

Rule of thumb, if you have to insert a "1" in front of the area code, the number is not local.

The YNP (Megapipe) network authenticates your username with username@megapipe.net. For example, if your user name is Georgez, and you have been dialing in to Megapipe with the username "georgez," now make your login name georgez@megapipe.net. To use the multi-dial numbers, make your username georgez@mg.multidial.com. You can make separate dialers for each type of network.

For Windows XP Users using YNP Network
  • From the desktop go to "Start"
  • Look for "Connect To"
  • Choose "Show all connections"
  • Highlight the icon labeled Megapipe (or Anent)
  • Use your right mouse button to find "properties"
  • Enter the new access number(s)
  • Make Sure dialing rules checkbox is unchecked and click OK
  • Double Click your Megapipe (or Anent) icon
  • Enter your current username and add @megapipe.net to it
  • Test your new connection
Windows98, Windows2000 or ME versions of Windows may not have the option to enter multiple telephone numbers, so you will have to create several connections if you want to try out diferent access numbers.

For Windows 2000, you will usually find your Dialup NetworKing folder in "My Computer" or in "Control Panel." For Windows 98 users, you will find the dialer by going to "My computer," then "Dialup Networking." Setup is pretty much the same for both networks, once you find your dialup networking folder.

Email us at support@megapipe.net with a telephone number if you are in need of further assistance. Note: changing your access number has no bearing on your email usernames or passwords. They do not change. More Information on dialing up.
